Gunman opens fire outside Copenhagen synagogue, 3 shot – police

An unidentified gunman opened fire near a synagogue in central Copenhagen on early Sunday morning, injuring three people, Danish police say, adding that the suspect fled the scene. It is unclear if the shooting is related to a deadly attack on a Copenhagen cafe hours earlier.

A brief statement from Copenhagen police said that one person was shot in the head at Krystalgade street, while two officers were shot in the arm and leg, respectively. The conditions of those injured was not immediately known.

"It is still too early to say whether the shooting is related to yesterday's shootings at Krudtt√łnden," the statement said. "The perpetrator fled the scene on foot."
