[REPORT] ‘Los Zetas’ drug cartel leader Omar Morales captured in northern Mexico – media

One of Mexico’s most-wanted drug lords, Omar Trevino Morales, who is the leader of the ‘Los Zetas’ cartel, was arrested on Wednesday in the Mexican city of San Pedro Garza Garcia in the northern state of Nuevo Leon, the Milenio newspaper reports.

Federal police and the Mexican army took Morales, who is also known as ‘Z42’, into custody at around 4 a.m. local time on Wednesday morning.

Morales replaced his brother Miguel Angel Treviño Morales, who was arrested in July 2013, as the leader of the crime group ‘Los Zetas.’
