22 killed after family feud at Afghan wedding escalates into gunfight

At least 22 people have been killed and nine others have been injured after a gunfight erupted overnight at a wedding in northern Afghanistan, a local news agency reports.

The incident happened on early Monday when two groups of armed men began arguing during the music program of a wedding ceremony in the Deh Salah district of Baghlan province. When a local security guard fired into the air to disperse the groups, both sides opened fire, killing at least 22 people, the Pajhwok and AFP news agencies report.

Among those killed were two children. All the victims were said to be men between the ages of 14 and 60.
