Ex-Subway spokesman Jared Fogle to plead guilty to paying for sex with minors

Former Subway spokesman Jared Fogle will plead guilty to allegations that he paid two 16-year-old girls for sex and received child pornography from a friend who worked at his childhood obesity charity, according to federal documents released on Wednesday.

A copy of the plea deal acknowledged that Fogle paid two 16-year-old girls for sex while staying at hotels in New York City, and asked one of them to provide him with access to girls as young as 14 to be able to pay them for sex. In one of the text messages sent to the girl, Fogle allegedly said he would accept a 16-year-old girl, while stating that 'the younger the girl, the better.'

As part of the plea deal, Fogle also acknowledged receiving videos of minors from Russell Taylor, who was using hidden cameras to secretly take explicit images and videos as minors stayed at Taylor's house. Taylor also provided Fogle with child pornography which he obtained through the internet and which depicted children as young as six. On one occasion, Fogle displayed the child pornography to another person, who was not identified in the documents.

Fogle is also alleged to have expressed his desire to engage in sex acts with children to several adult women, while stating in some cases that he had done so in the past.

As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors agreed not to ask for a sentence greater than 12.5 years imprisonment, while Fogle agreed not to request a sentence of less than 5 years imprisonment. Fogle also faces supervised release, a pornography prohibition, restrictions on his contact with minors, a sex offender registration, computer monitoring, and other conditions. Fogle, as part of the plea deal, further agreed to participate in a program of treatment for sexual disorders. The judge, however, is not bound by the plea agreement and may impose a different sentence.

In a tweet on Tuesday evening, Subway said it "no longer" has a relationship with Fogle.
