Crane collapse at Mecca’s Grand Mosque kills 107

At least 107 people were killed Friday when a construction crane collapsed at the Grand Mosque in Mecca, the Saudi Civil Defense said.

Photos from the scene showed a large red crane that had fallen over and slammed through the mosque's roof as thousands of worshipers were nearby. In addition to the fatalities, Saudi officials said at least 238 others were injured and the death toll is expected to rise further.
