Trump purchases NBC’s half of Miss Universe after clash

Business mogul Donald Trump says he has purchased the other half of The Miss Universe Organization that was previously owned by NBC.

Trump, who is running for the Republican nomination in next year's presidential election, now fully owns the company that is behind the world's best-known beauty pageants. "Just purchased NBC’s half of The Miss Universe Organization and settled all lawsuits against them. Now own 100%," Trump said on his Twitter feed on Friday.

Earlier this year, after Trump referred to some Mexican immigrants as "rapists, drug users and criminals," NBC decided to end its business relationship with Trump and said it would no longer air Miss USA and Miss Universe beauty pageants. As a result, Trump's campaign said it would take legal action against NBC for violating its contract with Trump by not airing the beauty pageants.

In addition to Miss USA and Miss Universe, The Miss Universe Organization also owns Miss Teen USA.
