Transgender woman found brutally murdered in Philadelphia

Police in Philadelphia are investigating the brutal murder of a 22-year-old transgender woman who was beaten and shot in the back multiple times by a group of five to six men.

Keisha Jenkins, 22, was attacked at about 2:30 a.m. ET on Tuesday after being dropped off at 13th and Wingohocking streets near Hunting Park in North Philadelphia. She was rushed to Einstein Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 2:53 a.m. ET.

"The motive is currently unknown; there is no arrest, and we do not know at this time if this murder is potentially a hate crime," said Philadelphia police spokeswoman Tanya Little. "The investigation is ongoing with the Homicide Unit."

A $20,000 reward has been issued for information leading to an arrest and conviction in connection with Jenkins' murder.
