- James G. McConnell is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the Legal field. McConnell is an Attorney in his own practice, Construction Law Services, LLC, which provides clients with expert, experienced construction law expertise. He has served in the legal industry for over 40 years.

McConnell "is a national and international author and lecturer on public, private and international construction contracting," according to his firm's website. McConnell earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Iowa State University in 1969. He then went on to complete his Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law in 1973.

Shortly after completing his law degree, McConnell served on a number of committees, including: the Chicago Bar Association Economics of the Law Profession Committee; the Chicago Bar Association Special Committee on Lawyers Bearing Trust Accounts; the American Bar Association Committee on Professional Liability - Tort and Insurance Practice Section; the Chicago Bar Association Environmental Law Committee (Chair); and the Chicago Bar Association Young Lawyers Section Professional Responsibility Committee (Vice Chair - 1978, Chair - 1979), just to name a few.

McConnell's resume consists of a number of impressive, notable cases in the area of construction law. He has "represented clients in hundreds of cases involving complex construction claims, and other international commercial, financial and insurance issues, including the British Overseas Trade Board, J. C. Decaux, the Consul General of Mexico, the Public Building Commission of Chicago, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Exelon Corporation, Bethlehem Steel, American Bridge Company, United States Steel, Youngstown Sheet & Tube and Zenith Radio," according to the firm's website. Additionally, he "has handled litigation concerning such familiar construction projects as Chicago's Millennium Park, the John Hancock building and the Sears Tower."

In addition to working cases, McConnell "has been involved in construction negotiations and disputes concerning Millennium Park's mixed public and private funded construction, Kennedy King Community College, homeland security improvements at the Port of Chicago, the Mexican Consulate in Chicago, the Illinois International Port District and Chicago's Central Police Headquarters," just to name some of his notable projects.

When not working, McConnell volunteers his time and legal services to several organizations, including the Huntley Historical Society and the McHenry County Historic Preservation Commission. He also is constantly searching for pro bono opportunities.
